Today I wanted to share with you how I created these fun rainbow backgrounds! I love playing around with colors, and these were so much easier than I thought they'd be! I was making some Branch and Poppy cookies from the movie Trolls, and wanted to add a bit of pizazz to the background. To make these, you'll need to flood your cookie with plain white icing and let it dry for at least 8 hours before messing with it. Now comes the fun part! Using only these three primary colors, you can create all of the colors in the rainbow! If you think back to grade school when you learned the colors of the rainbow, you might remember learning ROY G BIV. That stands for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. Now, in my crazy mind, I have to get my colors in that order, or life itself it just too topsy-turvy. :) To get that order on your cookie, you're going to start with red in the top corner. You're also going to want red on the bottom corner to make the purple at the end of the rainbow. You're going to want to overlap yellow, next, making sure to go a bit on top of the red to create the orange in your rainbow. Next your going to do the same with your blue color, making sure to overlap a bit of the blue with both the yellow and red. This will create all of the colors in your rainbow without the need to change airbrush colors so often, or creating the need to purchase so many cans of color spray. Yay! And, voila! There you have your easy rainbow background!
Have fun creating and experimenting!
